  • How do teachers communicate with parents about thier child's progress?
We love parents!!! Close interaction with parents and being supportive of families is something we strive for. We value personal relationships, so talking before or after class, sending a text or making a call are our most our favorite ways to keep in touch. ProCare is the software we use for the other stuff - attendance, tuition payments, record keeping, etc. ProCare also has parent messaging that we use for general school announcements and updates. We love Social Media!!! Who doesn’t want to see all the fun stuff their child is doing in class?!? Facebook and Instragram are a great way for friends and families to see all the fun their favorite preschooler is having while learning. We know how much grandmas and grandpas adore their grandkids and they looooooooooove seeing all the pictures we post of the games, activities and cute crafts we do each day!!! We love paper!!! Sometimes you just need a visual reminder, so we still send home old-fashioned calendars to post on the fridge or at your desk at work so you can be aware of every class party or special day coming up. Using multiple communication methods allows parents to hear from us in ways that work best for you!!!
  • How many children does MightyHearts Preschool care for?
An average daycare classroom has 1 adult for every 10 children. Most childcare centers have as many as 20 preschoolers in one classroom with a teacher and an aid. Not us!!! A fun and playful, yet peaceful classroom environment is one of our Core Values. We know too many kids in one room creates noise, chaos and can become overwhelming. For both kids & teachers!!! We love our staff and students too much for that. MightyHearts Preschool has 2 qualified teachers and limits our class size to 12-15 students. Our classroom is purposely set up so the Director/Owner’s desk is right in the classroom space so she is always available to jump in and help. Or just join the FUN!!! Mrs. Reilley looooooves to sing and dance!!! That’s 3 fantastic teachers loving and caring for a small and intimate group of little ones. And that’s just how we like it!!! Studies have shown that children who are lucky enough to attend a preschool with a truly small class size reap tremendous educational benefits. Benefits of smaller class sizes: - More Love and Attention for each LittleOne from Teachers and Classmates - Greater Opportunity to participate in Games, Activities, and Share Ideas in Group Discussions - Calmer Classroom Environment for Focusing on Learning, Cooperation and FUN!!! - Closer Friendship Connections Builds a Classroom Community - Extra Enjoyable Teaching Experience for Teachers - Happy Teachers + Happy Kids = Happy Families!!!
  • Do children need to be potty trained?
Accidents happen and that's just the PreschoolLife. However, all LittleOnes must be out of diapers and/or PullUps before joining our class. If your child is not quite fully potty trained but almost there, we can help them complete their potty training journey. Our teachers are a HugeHelp in this department, but honestly, it’s amazing what just being in a classroom full of other kids who use the potty independently does to encourage the End of an Era… It’s like Magic!!!
  • Do children nap regularly?
And the answer is YES. We lay down for quiet time every afternoon 1:30-3:30pm. Some nap, some don’t. But they all have a chance to rest after a busy morning of Sharing, Caring, TakingTurns, ABCs & 123s. Having fun can be exhausting!!!
  • Are snacks and meals included?
MightyHearts Preschool provides morning and afternoon snacks. LittleOnes get to bring their own lunchbox each day for lunch packed by mom or dad with the foods they like, are within their dietary requirements and fit into their family’s values for what’s appropriate to eat. We do ask parents to follow the USDA requirements for nutrition and include a grain, a protein, a fruit and a vegetable in every lunchbox meal.
  • Do you accept DHS assistance?
We welcome DHS assistance!!! ERDC payments do not always cover the full tuition payment and parents are financially responsible for the difference as well as paying their copay each month. Late pick-up fees, late payment fees, etc. are not covered by DHS and are the financial responsibility of the parents.

All classroom tours are scheduled at the end of the day to protect our LittleOnes from people we don’t know entering the classroom. With the exception of State Officials, we do not allow random visitors to enter without a scheduled appointment. Our playground is completely fenced in and located in the back area of the building for safe, fun outdoor activities. Our school is very private and safe.

  • Is there a drop-in option? Can my child(ren) attend on a day they are not scheduled?
Since we have such small class sizes, enrollment is limited and we carefully plan the attendance for the days each child attends. Although we would love to have your LittleOne join us every day, we may be at our limit if it’s a day not on their typical schedule. This doesn’t mean no, it just means maybe, and we will need to check our class roster to see if there is room for one more. Just Ask and if we can accommodate, we will!!!
  • How does my child get to the after school club?
We have a school bus stop all set up at the entrance of our parking lot for Chehalem Elementary as well as other schools that offer transportation to our location. Parents can also make arrangements for drop offs at MightyHearts for after school care.
